Photograph Challenge March 2008 – Destruction

...
Crystal/ChocMintGirl has a great entry for the photograph challenge run by Graham of One Man's Travel Blog. The guidelines for the March challenge are:

1. Take a photograph that in some way, manner or form represents "Destruction".
2. Include a brief explanation of how the photograph relates to the subject.
3. When you have posted your challenge, be sure to send Graham a link so that he can include it on his "March Challenge Entry" post at the end of the month. :-)

Inspired by the idea (and the fact I had just photographed my "destruction" this morning!) here is my entry. :-)

How the photo relates to the subject? The sheep came back today... ba-aah-ck today? This time those pesky perambulating floor-mops-on-hooves chewed up my potted plants as well as nibbling the lawn. Here's the photo of them from last week, seeming so innocent...

BUT I will have the ultimate revenge. Tonight we're having roast lamb for dinner.

* evil laughter fading into the ba-aah-ckground *

UPDATE!

Last night they went too far - they started eating the garden furniture. :-O My dad was the witness to our wooden garden seat having the varnish gnawed off the back. He chased them... they came back. I chased them... they came back. Hubby chased them... they left and we went to bed in peace, but at 4:00 am my mom and dad were woken up by banging noises. Turned out to be the sheep trying to soften up the back conrete path. At 5:00 am my mom checked again and counted 21 sheep lying down sleeping all over the front lawn.

Later this morning they were all back in their field nibbling grass like innocent lambs. Today I checked the garden - we have "lost" a few small plants and several bushes have had radical "haircuts", but it has been entertaining! :-D

A great photograph of the plant... I am sorry so much destruction happend to your garden. However, it has produced great photographs.

I will definitely add a link to these super photographs in my post at the end of March, for others to come and view them.

Thank you so much for participating and I hope you stay around for the future months' challenges too!!! :)

  2. For destroying plants, I'd sell dem sheep cheap to the first butcher.

For the lawns, I'd sell them as the new 'green' lawnmowers, I wonder if Al Gore would be interested...

    :-D

  3. Hi Graham

Thanks and yes, I'll definitely be back for more photo challenges. It's a great fun idea. :-) I'll also be back to look at your lovely photos. Some really gorgeous pictures... and recipes. *grin*

All in all losing a few plants was worth it for the laughter. Those sheep were just so funny to watch.

My husband was all for herding them into the garage and planning LOTS of mutton curries and stews. ;-)

  5. I love your idea of entertaining!! Wouldn't it be better to get a television? But then, the sheep are a far prettier scene. Will you call the laird in again? This was too funny. Hope you find a solution to the sheep before too much damage is done. I think the answer would be to find the owner and let him know that you'll be stocking your freezer soon ;)

  8. Do you have garbage? Place them in the garden, let the sheep eat all the garbage. They are the best garbage disposal system in the world! No kidding :)

  9. Oh, that's original! The sheep do look innocent but apparently, they are destruction experts!

We have trouble with raccoons and skunks here... even bears in remote areas. Not sheep though!

Thank you. Good luck with the job! :-)

I phoned and got his "awfully posh" answering service. I left a message that the sheep were free, but I never saw him this time.

I'm not one much for TV. I'd rather watch nature or potter on the computer. :-)

Hope you get to take photos that become happy memories in the future.

They're all back fenced in looking so sweet and harmless... evil things! lol

Really? Maybe our area should scrap the recycle bins and just hand out a sheep to each home. They have the added advantage of free garden fertiliser AND free wool! :-D

    Hi Zhu
I went and looked at your entry - the fire - but I couldn't manage to find the reply button there so I'm replying here - Great photo and nice to meet you! :-)

  11. Oh no, isn't there a way to keep them out? It takes so long for plants to grow properly and seconds for them to be eaten up!
