Navajo Prayer

...

In beauty may I walk

All day long may I walk

Through the returning seasons may I walk

Beautifully I will possess again

Beautifully birds

Beautifully joyful birds

On the trail marked with pollen may I walk

With grasshoppers about my feet may I walk

With dew about my feet may I walk

With beauty may I walk

With beauty before me may I walk

With beauty behind me may I walk

With beauty above me may I walk

With beauty all around me may I walk

In old age, wandering on a trail of beauty, lively, may I walk

In old age, wandering on a trail of beauty, living again, may I walk

It is finished in beauty

It is finished in beauty

  2. Michelle, this is a beautiful post. I followed the link to the other Navajo prayer and was so inspired by the line "Come to us soaring," that I wrote another crocitation (:D) to use it.

I also (finally) got the hang of linking, per your instructions.

  4. That Navajo poet had the right idea. It is a beautiful thought and wish. Your image is what I envision when reading the words - thank you for changing the direction of my day when reading it. I hope all is well with you.

  5. Hi Terry
My first thought on seeing you was T!!! Because I've been alphabetically updating my favourite blog links and only got as far as M today. LOL You will be there soon. In other words, i'm well, but addled. Trying to do too many things at once and I always was a girl who couldn't walk and chew gum... ;-)

I hope you're keeping well. I haven't been near your blog in ..?? Too long!

I'm losing it. I swore I answered you here, but.. nothing! I LOVED your new crow poem. It's an utter delight.
