It's been a while since I felt like blogging. I think everyone reaches that stage, where the ideas just dry up or you're too busy to remember to write. For me, it's been a bit of both. And then there's the sad fact that blogging seems to be a dying thing. More people are moving to the fast and snappy media, like Twitter.
At first, I felt really sad about that, but then I thought about how each stage of my internet experiences have brought me new friends and knew chances to grow and learn. I "arrived" online at the moment when internet forums were the hottest new thing. I met and made wonderful friends that way and I was heart-broken when most of the forums I loved turned into ghost towns or were shut down. But then, at that time, I was just beginning to blog. And in blogging I met new wonderful people and madesome fantastic friendships.
So... as much as it will hurt my heart of blogging dies out completely, I know there will be new things to learn from and new people to meet. All part of life's journey. :-)
The quote is very spot on. I haven't been very good at blogging, either, but I can't escape just yet ha ha...I'm also thankful for all the people I've gotten to know through different means. Check out my new post. I've just written how I met Nikki in London and posted some photos, too he he...
ReplyDeleteP.S. I think when it comes to blogging, once you've lost the momentum, it's hard to go back on track - kinda like an exercise regime. It's easier to maintain the pace when you're doing it regularly but once you've stopped it for a longer while, it's harder to get back on the saddle, but these days it is harder to choose blogging because there are many other online options out there that take less time (on top of life's busy grind, that is.).
Hi Amel
ReplyDeleteI'll go look at your photos! :)
Yeah, I agree with everything you said, especially how it's hard to get back into a routine.
I hope blogging doesn't die coz I'm only just getting started, well, 2 years. I am on FB and Twitter, but only to promote posts, I don't seem to be very interested in the rest of it
ReplyDeleteHi Cat. Me too, because I just hate twitter so much and Facebook is not my favourite place either.
ReplyDeleteI really miss the way it was 5 years back, when I had like 10 blog replies a day and my brain was bouncing with ideas.
I need to get my bounce back! And as a short chubby woman... that should be easy? LOL
